Three Lady Chieftains Named All-State

The South Barber Lady Chieftains landed three players on the Wichita Eagle’s 1A All-State Basketball team announced at the end of the season. Junior guard Kaitlyn Morris was named to the first team squad while sophomore guard Sara Molz made the second team. Honorable mention honors went to senior center Calli Mathews. Morris, 5-8, led the team in scoring with a 15.2 points per game average while Molz was right behind with 11.5 points per game. Mathews was a solid scorer and rebounder for the Lady Chieftains this season and helped lead them to a 26-2 season and third place finish in the Class 1A State Tournament in Hays.
